When her hopes for the future begin to unravel, it becomes clear that life has other plans for Carrie and the cowboy.

This books storyline was not written to be believable. It moved too fast with someone being a mail order bride, then to have two men shot to death within an hour of arriving. The man who was hired to pick her up was telling her how awful her future husband was, then met a man who seemed to be from the man who brought her there, then he appears to kidnap her and says he had a daughter that this horrible man sold in a despicable way. He proceeds to tell her he wants to keep her from suffering like his daughter did. Along comes the man who picked her up at the train station & while they discuss her impending marriage, along came the brute whom she was to marry and the guy who seemed to kidnap her shoots him & believes him dead gets shot dead by the tyrant who was on his breath. Then the dead men are thrown in the back of the wagon & no one questions what happened to the dead men. This all happens in an hour or two upon her arrival. The woman should have been a hysterical mess, not trapesing off to pick wildflowers. Too much too fast.Product details

Mail Order Bride Carrie and the Cowboy Westward Wanted Book 1 edition by Crystal Anne Tilden Religion Spirituality eBooks Reviews
What a sweet love story. But it ended too soon. I would have liked to have seen an epilogue. Tann should have built a house for Carrie in the field of flowers that she loved so much . And maybe we could have found out if Carrie survived her first childbirth. Anyway, the story was a lovely old fashioned love story
This is a quick and enjoyable read. We, my husband and I, both read it and all the rest in the series. They are well worth taking the time to read.
Great book
My trouble with this wasn't the story, it was because it was just way to short. I wish it would have been longer and the characters developed more....Wish I would have seen it was just 59 pages, I wouldn't have bought it. (So really, I gave it three stars because I liked the story only!)
Carrie who had a miserable life with her father and now she was headed for some real misery from an unsuspected source. The best day of her life is when she met Tanner. I will not say any more for this is a short story and you should really read it for yourself. You will maybe learn something that I never realized happened at that time.
It was a good read. I do love to read about the old west especially about the mail order brides;.which I find very daring on a female's part in the old west days just to pick up and move to where ever her future husband lived. Not know anything about him other than what was written. I wonder how many mail order brides arrived and found themselves in worse conditions than they had left. But women did not have much to chose from back in those times.
Having read another of Crystal Anne Tilden's books, I know she is capable of writing much better than what is found here. The action sequence toward the beginning of the book was written in such a juvenile way as to be laughable. The savior cowboy began arguing that she was good and worthy of his undying love even when she had hardly said 2 words to him, and those rather cross words. Of course he proposes marriage only a few minutes after meeting her.
The real shame is this was an excellent premise for an enjoyable romance. This could even have served as an expanded outline of the final book, but it is in desperate need of being fleshed out and polished. She has the talent, I wish she would sit down and rewrite this novel and make it what it should be.
