Date: 6th Movember 2006
Music: My Love, Justin Timberlake
Mood: Hahahaha

How do you know when you've been away from home for too long? How do you know whe you're supposed to feel homesick? I don't have an answer to the second question, and i never found out, but when you've been away from home for too long, the smell of wet dog is actually welcome. It's when your room seems alien to you, and you realise that what your dad said is right.. "Clean up this room or you'll never find anything!!!" Haa haa. So yes, i'm home. After three weeks in Aussieland, it feels good to be back.

Haven't finished blogging about everything that happened in Australia, but will continue once i have the time. As for now, i think it'll be fantastic to go for BM tuition.

... Oh my gosh. What's happening to me??!!

.|.SMC's Awards Night.|.

Date: 3rd November 2006
Blogging for: 30th October 2006
Music: Come on, come on, Little Birdy
To keep blogging, depending on: Sugar.

Didn't go to school on Monday because most of the girls and teachers were at the Awards Night rehearsal. Plus, Uncle Loon said it'd be better for me to not go, so who am i to argue? =] Heh heh.. Basically slept in since the food from the night before gave such a heavy effect. As i've said to Aunty Jo before, i'm so going to be back home three times my usual size. Treadmill, here i come. Spent most of the day writing notes and making cards for the teachers at SMC who have been nice enough to have me in their classes.

Awards Night.. Weell, it's basically the night that the students at SMC get their awards for academic as well as awards for after-school, out-of-school activities. It was held at the Perth Music Hall, which is HUGE, by the way. [Sorry, no pics of the inside of the Music Hall, was told that we're not allowed to take any pics in there.. ] Uncle Loon had to mark the attendance of the girls in his class, so i was put under Claire's care, so i wouldn't get lost. Haa haa, she was fun to be with. I walked into the auditorium with Claire and i was like "Okiiieeee, this is big!" she laughed, apparently not very surprised at it, and i guess i can't blame her since the girls at SMC have their Awards Night there every year. We were seated above the seating on the lower floor, quite a distance away from the stage. Claire was pretty excited because, as she said "Oh my gosh, we [class Kelly] are usually seated by the sides [she gestures to the seats situated by the side of the hall, above the lower floor, i can't remember what their called.. Ah yes, TIERS. ], so yes, i am excited, this year we may actually be able to see something!!". Apparently i picked a good year to come. So, it started at 7:30pm and ended at 10-ish. Enjoyed the performances by the collaborated choir, band and dance team of SMC in their rendition of the musical Chicago. Was very good, actually. Except that i preferred the sounds of the choir practising with only Mr. K on the piano as accompanyment [oops, my spelling..], early in the morning, voices ringing in the chapel where they practised.

Then came the speeches. Oh my goodness, if i ever complained about the speeches given during SMKTS's school assembly, i take back my words. The speeches at Awards night were loooong, and since we were seated considerably faraway from the stage, their voices were kinda muffled by the time they reached us. Funny enough, Claire and the girl sitting next to her were really snoozing. Not a bad place to either, because it was dark and the people giving the speeches don't look down on you from the stage, rather, we look down on them from the balcony seats. Ah, that's the name. There were other items by the choir as well as band in between the award-giving and speeches. Josh if you're reading this, if you ever want to watch a fantastic all-girl violin + cello + base performance, just drop in to SMC. Well, that's about it. Was fidgeting in my seat most of the time when speeches were delivered, but everything else was pretty good. Liked the ambience and atmosphere. As with the Year 12s Last House Assembly, Awrds Night can only be truly appreciated by those who are impacted by it. This time, it's a big day for those like Natalie [i know two of them, actually] and Ashleigh [and many more, i just don't remember] who receive awards, and Evanna who is officially announced as next years' Head Girl. Though not one of them, i guess i'm lucky to be able to be part of the audience on this memorable night.

Ah yes, and one last thing..

.|.Two Rocks and Dinner.|.

Date: 3rd November 2006
Blogging for: 29th October 2006
Music: Perfect Strangers, INXS
Mood: Still motivated to keep at it, blogging, that is..

Alrighty.. 29th October 2006, Sunday. Aunty Jo was off at work, and Uncle Loon took Jin and I down to Two Rocks, where Aunty Judy, Uncle Charlie, Aidan, Kieran and their dog live. Just a bit of family history here.. Uncle Loon is my dad's older brother, one of them anyway, and Aunty Judy is my dad's older sister. Uncle Charlie, whom Aunty Judy is married to, is Irish. Their sons are Aidan and Kieran. Hmm.. the last time i was up at Two Rocks was when i was.. erm.. six? five? It's been such a long time that i don't even remember. Haa haa. Two Rocks is 80 miles [i'm not even going to bother to convert it into kilometres] from Willeton, where the Loon household, and where i am currently staying, is located.

It was a short visit, but i enjoyed it thoroughly. When we arrived, the first thing that i noticed was barking. Yes, barking. As i haven't seen my Jiji in two plus weeks, you could say that i'm ahving dog-withdrawl sympthoms. That does not include Sam from circuit training. That's a story i'll leave for later. =] Anyhow, can't remember the dog's name, but the dog at Two Rocks was big and his fur was all poofed up because [as i found out later] Uncle Charlie had put tick powder on him.Uncle Charlie was off playing golf, and Kieran was nowhere in sight, which left just Aunty Judy and Aidan at home. Aunty Judy was in the living room watching rugby when we arrived. After greeting each other, she began to prepare lunch. Fussy Uncle Loon got Aidan to make him a cup of tea.

Won't go into detail of the visit as it was basically lunch and chatting, but i suppose that it was a really good visit. I mean, back home, i'm really close to my family, as in, just my dad, mum, and bro. But other than that, i hardly spend any time with my extended family members, except for a few family / Chinese New Year/ Christmas dinners. And despite the fact that i have relatives in USJ and Taman Megah, i hardly talk to them. However, when we were at Two Rocks, Jin was hyper, tackling Aunty Judy who was sitting on the couch, with a rib-breaking hug. Aunty Judy was equally friendly when greeting me. And her hospitality in making us a lip-smacking lunch counts too. I was laughing when Jin hugged Aidan and still clung on to his waist as he was setting the table up for lunch. Our conversation, despite the fact that i haven't seen him since we were little kids, and the age gap between us, was really relaxed with a touch of humour.

I'm used to aunts always saying "Oh my goodness, how you've grown, Su-lyn!! Getting prettier and more like your mother!!" and that's about all they say to me for the rest of the dinner. I don't blame them, i guess. Aunts will be aunts, i suppose. But Aunty Judy was like chatting with me over the sizzling of the sausages, shooing flies away. We were talking on and on and on, about just about anything that's ahppening or has happened in our lives, somehow it didn't feel like i was talking to an aunt whom i haven't seen for many many years, but to an aunt who lives just down the road. Don't get me wrong, i love all my aunts [and uncles, at that], but like how you can love all your friends but get along better with a few when compared to others? talking to Aunty Judy was like that. We can just get along, the fact that i'm her niece and she's my aunt doesn't necessarily bring and uncomfortable feeling, am i making sense?

Anyway, while we were having lunch (sausages, ham, salad, bread, lots of sauces, etc), there were talks of rugby, driving, Aidan's job, students nowadays, PE, etc. Sometime after lunch, Kieran, who has lost so much weight and is not much of the big guy is remember him as, [also from pictures] arrived at the house with his girlfriend, Megan [i think that's her name]. With him came toffee and blackcurrant licorice. Stayed for about half an hour more, then we left. But only after we took a few pictures and we got free Western Force stuff off Aidan who obtained them from his job. Haa haa. Well, felt kinda sad to leave Two Rocks, with the warm and nice atmosphere that totally defines what family is all about. That, or i'm a horribly sentimental person.

PS: Will post up a few pics later, when i get my cousin to give me the password for her side of the somputer so i can get the file.

Ah yes, and at night, since it was Aunty Jo's birthday, we went out to Nicholson's for dinner. Whoa, the food was GOOD!! No pics of people as it was quite dark, but got this pic off Jin of our dessert. Drool away, dear readers!! =]

Until my next post, be good!!

Hugs and smiles,
~LynNie.

.|.Traumatised.|.

Date: 3rd November 2006
Blogging for: 28th October 2006
Muisc: You give me something, James Morrison
Mood: Enthusiastic, ready to catch up with all my posts that are supposed to be up. xD

Before i begin this *ahem* interesting post, just wanna wish GE a very HAPPY BIRTHDAY!! If you're reading this, hope you don't feel any older, 'cause hey, you can definitely be more fun and act younger than me any day!! Love ya loads, girl!! =]

Now, on to the trauma. Mind you, i'm blogging about Saturday, the 28th of October. I suppose that i should've anticipated having a few cultural shocks during my stay here in Aussieland, but i guess i let my guard down or something. Anyway, my dear cousin Han actually was being nice and brought my cousin Jin and i out to Garden City to do some shopping. This is partly because i had to get a pair of leather lace up shoes, black stockings, and a white, collared, button-up, long-sleeved shirt for SMC's Awards Night on Monday night. It's a formal thing, so all the girls [sadly, even i'm not excluded] had to wear the school's winter uniform. Shucks, just as i was getting used to the summer uniform. Anyhow, we were in Han's car, and in my head i was running through all the shops that i could possibly find the things i needed, when he pulled up in a driveway. I was like "erm....?". Turns out that he's having a friend come along with us. Male bonding, i suppose. So we walk up the driveway, to the front door. Han knocks, and the door behind the net screen opens, revealing a man who then says with a totally straight face "What do you want? Are you looking for trouble?".. To which i was wondering if we were at the wrong house or something. Well, a few moments later, the man lets us in the house, sort of laughing at the retort Han gave in response to his greeting. He then said "Robbie isn't ready, so make yourselves at home." and a voice from a room came "Piss off, it's not even 11 o' clock yet!!" Okaaayyyy... After greeting the man, Jin and I make our way to the couch and sit down while Han chats with Robbie's dad [the man who answered the door in a freakish way]. A few minutes later, some dude with short blonde hair walks into the living room in nothing except his underwear. "Sh*t Han, did you have to bring ALL your relatives??" Robbie said, after noticing the two girls present in his living room. All i could do was make the half smile on my face freeze there to hide my shock. Okay. A few minutes later, we're finally in the car and on the way to the shopping mall. Very nice, my cousin. He hadn't even considered the fact that his little sister and his considerably younger cousin were sitting in his car, when he and Robbie started discussing... wait for it... ready...?... Han's sex life. Goodness, this was probably the only time that i appreciated Han's stereo system which was capable of drowning out the voices of two very.. erm.. hormonal guys.

The shopping trip was reasonably unincidental. Just got the title of 'Shortie 2', while my cousin is 'Shortie'. If i'm short, then Han is just as vertically challenged as i am, and therefore deserves the title 'Shortie' too. Am reminded that in certain songs/raps by many artists, they like referring to women or girlfriends as Shortie [not relating it to my plight here], and seriously, what guy who respects women, or rather his girlfriend, would give her a nickname which would highlight the fact that he is head and shoulders taller than her, or worse.. if HE'S shorter than she is?! But since i've known Robbie/Nobert for less than a few hours, what he calls me doesn't really matter, actually. Just a thought.

Well yeah, that's about all the trauma i've been through [the name-calling is not part of it, just something i felt like chucking in].. It's alright.. Have learnt a lesson that i cannot rely on my older cousin to take care of me, that's all. =]

Haa haa. Take care, my dears.

Hugs and smiles,
~ LynNie.
