.|.New layout *phew*.|.

Date: 29th August 2006
Music: Still, Hillsong
Mood: Happy, relieved

Heya people!! Surprised? Yeah, i finally changed my blogskin. The layout is very much preferred to my older one because this one's space for my actual writing (as in, this thing you're reading ) is very much bigger, and i don't have to keep editing my template to fit big pictures. Also, it's much nicer and easier on the eyes with this bigger space, right? By any rate, i'm happy with it. Also, it's PURPLE!!

About the piccie on the top, (get ready for a heart attack.. deep breath..deep breath..) i made it!! xD Okay, so it's a bit 'cacated' la, but gimme a break, i'm a girl who has only the programme 'Paint' for picture editing. Haahaa. Erm, explanation? I think "intense beauty" needs no explanation. But the blurred words at the bottom say "~ Because beauty is only skin deep".. And as a whole, the entire collage depicts the meaning that there is much more to a person than merely how they look. That someone can be utterly radiant on the inside, despite of what they look like on the outside. That there is beauty in everything.. Just not everyone sees it..

Kay kay, i shall leave you all here. That cocludes my first ever post with this new layout. Take care, peeps!!

Hugs and smiles,
~LynNie

.|.Frasers.|.

Date: 22nd August 2006
Music: Too little, Too late, Jojo
Mood: Solemn

I'm back, all the way from Frasers. Spent three days up there, so it feels like a steam room down here. Weeell, the whole objective was to go and play golf like crazee, walk, etc. But in the end, we just.. played golf like crazee.. To many of you who are going "You play golf??".. Yes.. I do play golf. Three days of solid golf excursions. Was staying up at Silver Park (Uncle Heng Yuen and Aunty Puay Wan's apartment) with mum, dad, Han, Wee Han and Ernest. Here's a little report.

Date: 19th -21st August 2006
Days: 3
Accomodation: Silver Park
Food provided by: Mummy
Holes played : 63
Tees broken: 8+
Pisang goreng eaten: 10+
Golf balls lost: erm.. 8?
Clubs lost: None.. But almost left my P wedge at the sand bunker once..
Tan: None. Sunblock does wonders..

Haha.. Don't mind my extra nonsense in there... Well, i'm definitely more satisfied with my golf game now, learnt alot from Daddy, our resident pro. In which i will not bother explaining the tedious procedures of reading lines and squaring into direction. Well, from sleeping on the floor in the main bedroom of the apartment, i got what seems like a plague of pimples across my forehead. However, upon closer inspection, these bumps don't seem to be filled with pus, but are just.. well... bumps. Alright, they're mosquito bites. Most of the night, i was slapping myself in the face, trying to put an end of the source of the irritating buzzing and increasing itch. As my parents were comfortable under the mosquito net, i decided not to be as irritating as the afore-mentioned insect and bug them, so i just moved out to the living room, where the sofa proved comfortable enough to spend the rest of the night on. Ah yes, and may i mention that i was sleeping there, trying to ignore the fear that monkeys might jump in from the window and attack me whilst i'm sleeping? In short, sleeping was so not the best part of the trip, even if i was dog-tired. And here's a little thing that happened on the last day of our crazee golf-madness trip.

Was playing a round of 18 holes on the last day, mum wanted to take a break since the day before, we had played 27 holes of golf and in her own words "Is over-kill." (We were trying to make full use of the extra 15 riggit charged when playing onm Sundays.. ) Her not playing meant i was to play with my dad, and the three guys. Eesh. For your information, i may play golf, but i'm no Michelle Wie, wherelse my bro could be Tiger Woods at an early age, and Ernest would be somewhat.. Ernie Els? My dad? Like i said. Resident pro.. Nuff said. Talk about pressure. So anyway, we were playing the second nine (the second round of nine holes) and at the 5th hole, there's this crossover. Meaning, we have to cross-over the fareway (basically where the ball is supposed to fly.) of the 3rd hole. Sounds dangerous, but of course, golf etiquette requires the flight (group of people playing) of the 3rd hole to do the usual like shout "Ball/fore!!" and make sure the path of which their golf ball would fly is people-free, before even lining up to take the shot. Anyway, was about to do the gruelling procedure of hitting the golf ball (with my dad watching), when 'golfball1' from nowhere flew right past me. Freaked, i totally forgot my aimed line and looked up. Funny enough, i didn't see the dumbass who hit the ball. I did however, see this tall guy in a purple shirt getting ready to hit from the OB'ed (Out of Bounds means that when you hit a shot, the golfball lands in/on a place that is not in the area of the particular hole you are playing. When this happens, you are entitled to pick the ball up and drop it back onto the area in which is in the designated radius of the particular hole you are playing. If the ball is not found, however, you can drop another ball, again, on the path of which the hole you are playing.) Which basically means, that dumbass getting ready to hit the ball was SO wrong and despite the fact that my dad had already told him off and was still trying to get the message across to him that he's not allowed to play from that Ob'ed area, especially since there are people (meaning us) in the way of the cross-over, the no-brainer- hit the golf ball, sent it flying past us- again. Don't these people ever listen?? The convo goes as following..
Dad: Do you even know how to play golf? How can you hit from the OB'ed area, especially if there are people around?
Dude: But i yelled "ball" just now.
Dad: Yeah, and you almost hit me just now. And do you even know the rules of golf?
*some white guy walks out from behind the trees. I'm guessing that golfball1 belonged to him.*
White guy: And the rules of golf don't allow 6 people to play on one flight.
Dad: *turns to him* On this golf course, they do. I have permission. (cha thou 1)
Bro: (from nearby) And if you know how to count, there's only FIVE of us.
Lyn: *thinks* CHA THOU!!!!! XD *walks away, going to burst into laughter*

Sheesh.. Some people.. Anyway, went on and finished the round of golf. Had an amazing lunch. Then home. Well, that's about all the excitement, ups and downs of the whole thing. Am back, and sort of ready to take on all the work, assignments, jobs, etc. Hope you guys are having as fun a holiday as i am, take care!

Hugs and smiles,
~ LynNie

.|...:: Surprise!! ::...|.

Date: 5th August 2006
Music: Breaking free, HSM
Mood: Happy. VERY happy.

Okie.. This update is a wee bit late, but here nonetheless. Was too tired last night to blog, just crawled into bed and KO'ed. Alrighty, will describe the whole day. But first, here's my initial plan for my Saturday.

1:30-3:30- Interact Installation
3:30-5:50- Youth meeting
5:50- ?? - Miss Malaysia auditions, as Shiseido (the company at which my mum works in) is the main sponsor

Alright. So went to the Interact Install, to support my darlings who were getting posts as well as dancing!! The hall was dark. Probably an effect they wanted so their cool lighting effects would show well. Not to mention the fact that the music was good, it really created the right atmosphere. Sarah looked gorgeous in her Interact uniform, as a President ideally should. Yong Ming looked good as well, all smart-looking. The flowers arrived when Kye Ling and Chee Kong did, blue roses for Sarah and orange ones for Yong Ming's "boss". Me, Jess, Mia, Su Faye, Esther, Florence, Chuo Tung, Winston, Kye Ling, Chee Kong, and Phee Chien all sat about the same area and probably made the most noise when our friends were called up. xD Jess brought the banners she made for Sarah and Yong Ming. A biggie congratulations to all the newly installed Interactors, and all the best to those who got posts. The highlight of course, was the dance by none other than the Masquerading Cats (correct me if i got that wrong), but the important thing is who was dancing in it. None other than people like Michelle, YanN and Ming!! Wow, the entire hall could SO feel the heat! Fabulous job, guys. All that practice really paid off after all!! I think that Sarah must've been nervous during her speech, but i think that she sounded confident enough and who could possibly have anything against her after the biggie smile she gave? The last thing i saw was the "Shuffling" performance. Nothing against them who performed it la, but i didn't get it. Sure the beat was good, but the concept, what's so special, i so missed the point. But i guess it's like art. You've gotta have a certain taste acquired to be able to appreciate it. Left right after that for Youth, at which Pastor Richard and Pator Louisa shared an inspiring message.

Mum came to pick me at 6-ish, and we were supposed to be headed home for mum to be able to change before we headed for the Miss Malaysia auditions. She asked me to catch forty winks or else i'd get all cranky that night or something. So i did. Slept all the way home, and sometime when i was in dreamland, felt that it had turned hotter. For some weird reason. Curious, i actually woke up to discover that mummy had wound down the window. Wow, so shocking right? But what's really shocking was that i found myself (in the car) surrounded by many many familiar looking faces. It took me a few moments to register the fact, and as they finished yelling "HAPPY BIRTHDAY, SU-LYN!!!!" , i started screaming too- but this time, out of surprise and glee. Such a lovely surprise, i SO didn't expect it. Yes, it took me a few minutes to just accept the fact that i had been, as it were, set up, totally walked right into a their hands!!! The barbecue set was all ready, the ice boxes were lined up outside, the sliding door was opened, tables and chairs set outside, and even colourful crepe paper decorated the entrance into the house!!

We started off with food. Yes, eating is a ceremony by itself at the Yeang household. Everyone was mesmerised by mummy's lasagna as well as the prospect of having so much food to eat. Was happy wholfing down my favourite potato salad and gossip was going round and round the table. Oh, here's the people who made it to the party, just so you can picture it nicely. The voices, the laughter, the madness. The three criminal masterminds behind the whole thing : Eel, Josh, Xuan. Then in no particualr order, comes Amelia, Janice, Winnie, Derk Wen and Hua, Wen An, Wai Yan, Florence, Kye Ling, Estee, Jit Yang, Emilio, Geoffrey, Jason, Jessica, Yong Ming, Sarah, Wee Kiat, Chuo Tung, Ming Han, Chee Kong, and Phee Chien. The eating the just hanging around session took a long time before the first game. We were seperated into five groups. The first was in ice breaker. We all sat in a circle and played "Poison Pillow/ Pass the parcel". It all seemed like an ordinary pass the parcel game, but when it stopped at Geoff, Eel came down the stairs with this innocent-looking green bag. Phee Chien, who was supposed to be choosing something for Geoff, as he was sitting opposite the unfortunate dude, took one look in and said "OH EM GEE!!!". Apparently, the bag was filled with various articles of clothing. The first one had to wear a siglet. Lucky him, because Yong Ming had to wear a RED BRA!!!! My goodness. At least he got to feel what it's like to be boobylicious for once. And yes. Look up the pictures (which i will probably post up later on) and you will notice that we DID stuff his bra with newspaper!! Other peeps had to wear weird stuff too. The next game was a bit more civilised, even if we had to still wear the weird articles of clothing (me in a white camisole thrown over my collared shirt and a small tiara. Actually, i think Florence looked more like royalty than i did, with her scarf and big tiara.) during the other games. Seriously, we all looked so hilarious, like cross-dressers and Spice-girls- wannabes. xD Anyway, the next game was where a person from each group had to be blindfolded and led only by voice by a team mate. "To do what?" you ask. To be led outside to the garden and eat a watermelon without using their hands, but held by yet another team member. The organisers forgot to bring proper blindfolds so a few of the participants had to use my black shirt or something like that. It was great that CKong was fantastic at getting Geoff to move, and that our group won first place, but when i went around passing everyone tissue paper, i saw Chuo Tung wipe his mouth on the shirt of mine that was used to blindfold him!!! I screeched at him, and he was all apologetic, explained that he thought it was just a piece of cloth, and that he wasn't wearing his glasses. Then promised to get me a new shirt. XD The third game was sick. Various ingredients were lined up on the dining table and depending on the score in a quiz before that, someone from the group was supposed to drink the mixture, concocted by another group's member. Jason was mixing my concoction. WHile waiting for him to mix it up, let's discuss the questions from the quiz. Mind you, i was the one drinking, so i couldn't say anything.. Pink is what my group answered. (CKong, Wen An and Geoff)
1. When is Joshua's birthday? You die lor, Su-lyn..
2. How many pets does Ee Ling have? You're bound to die, Su-lyn.
3. What colour does Yueh Xuan want to highlight her hair once she leaves school? Dead yet, or not, Su-lyn?
4. What is Ee Ling's mum's handphone number? (some totally off random number)
5. What is Joshua's dad's car plate number? (some random number)
6. How many songs are there on Joshua's computer? (yet another random number)
7. What is Joshua's favourite ice-cream flavour? Strawberry (just because it's pink)

Eesh. So i basically thought i was dead, since the concoction that Jason made was GROSS since my group had NONE correct, or even remotely close. Eesh, trust a CKong and DJ-rians. Haha, just joking, you guys. Was about to accpet my fate, when Joshua said "And here's the twist.. Whoever who made it, drinks it." WHoa, the look on Jason's face was priceless. XD But in the end Geoff drank it for him, and Derk Wen actually LIKED his concoction, though Jan and Florence's faces were contorted into some looks of utter disgust and had to drink loads of water. Had loads of just hanging around after that, as people just went home one by one. Sounds kinda boring, but i had so much fun, i'm sure otrhers did too, despite the last few moments that was probably the weirdest, all of us split up into our own little groups and chatting.

Since i'm here, i just wanna take the opportunity to thank every single person who made this entire thing possible, for being there, and having fun. Yes, even if it means laughing at my sleeping face. Thanks especially to Eel, Josh, and Xuan who worked on this for over a month, i so totally love you guys for this. My first ever surprise birthday party wouldn't have happened if it wasn't for you guys. Thanks for making my sweet 16 birthday a super and memorable one.

Love to all my darlings and sweethearts! (even those who didn't come)
~LynNie
